The forest or the park as a receptacle for works of art, particularly sculptures, is not something unusual: let's remember experiences that are conceptually as far removed as those of Bomarzo or those of the Kroner-Müller Park in Holland.

However, none of these proposals can be assimilated in Can Ginebreda Forest due to the vital, personal intensity of the experience and the plastic overall nature that it involves.

This forest, popularly known as “Xicu's Forest” is in the municipality of Porqueres, some six kilometres from Banyoles, on the road to Olot, via Santa Pau. It consists of some 40,000 m2, with typically Mediterranean oaks, holm oaks, pine trees, junipers, arbutus berries, holly, blackthorns and sculptures.
